A well-organized kitchen is the heart of any home, providing a sense of order and efficiency. While there are countless products on the market designed to help organize your kitchen space, you don’t necessarily need to break the bank to achieve a clutter-free and functional culinary haven.

In this blog, we’ll explore creative ways to repurpose and reuse everyday items to organize your kitchen cabinets. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also discover unique and resourceful solutions that will bring charm and character to your kitchen.

1 - Mason Jars for Dry Good Storage

Mason jars are versatile and can be repurposed in various ways to organize your kitchen cabinets. Use them to store dried herbs, spices, pasta, grains, and baking essentials.

Attach chalkboard labels to the jars for easy identification and a touch of rustic charm. Arrange them on a shelf or in a drawer for a visually appealing and easily accessible storage solution.

2 - Magazine Holders as Pot Lid Organizers

Don’t let pot lids take up valuable space in your cabinets when they are awkward to store with their pots and pans. Instead, repurpose magazine holders to neatly store them vertically. Place the holders on a shelf or affix them to the inside of a cabinet door using adhesive hooks.

This clever hack not only saves space but also ensures your pot lids are always within reach and out of the way of you nesting your pots and pans together.

3 - Tension Rods for Cutting Board Storage

Maximize cabinet space by using tension rods to create a cutting board organizer. Simply place the tension rod vertically between two cabinet walls or under the sink. Slide your cutting boards through the rod’s space, creating a convenient and organized storage solution.

This method works well for baking sheets and trays too. This can also be used for sheet pans, muffin tins, and pizza pans, just dedicate a cabinet and a few cheap tension rods and you’re good to go.

4 - Utensil Trays for Multipurpose Storage

Rather than limiting utensil trays to holding flatware, think outside the box. Utilize them to organize a variety of kitchen essentials that you don’t normally think of organizing. Use the compartments to store small gadgets, measuring spoons, cupcake liners, or even office supplies like paper clips and sticky notes. Arrange these trays in your cabinet drawers to keep everything in its place.

Honestly, these are great for the junk drawer that most people have in their kitchen. Keep those stray rubber bands, paper clips, batteries, and pens in perfect order and easy to grab when they’re needed. No more digging around and unburying to find what you need!

5 - Shoe Organizers for Pantry Organization

Take advantage of vertical space by repurposing over-the-door shoe organizers to tame your pantry chaos. Hang the organizer on the back of your pantry door or a nearby wall and fill the pockets with spices, snack packs, condiments, and other small items.

This method maximizes space and makes it easier to locate and grab what you need while cooking.

6 - Egg Cartons for Fragile Items

Save empty egg cartons from the recycling bin and give them a new purpose in your kitchen. They work wonders for storing and protecting delicate items such as shot glasses, small bowls, or even Christmas ornaments.

Stack the cartons in a cabinet or drawer, ensuring that each fragile piece has its own compartment for safekeeping.

As Andrea B. says:

A neighbor recommended All Organized after she had All-Organized install roll-out shelves. My lower kitchen cabinets had roll-out shelves only on the top shelf (but not soft close) and I have found trying to get to things from the lower shelves to be a problem. My bathroom has a deep 3-shelf cabinet that is a pain to find things in and reach items in the back of the lower shelves. Once I found out I needed to have spine surgery and would not be allowed to bend for 6 weeks, I immediately called Paul and All Organized! He is the owner and has been in business for many years. He came to do the measurements and 2 weeks later his installer, Hugo, came and installed them! Paul was friendly, prompt, quick, and thorough! Hugo was also pleasant, exactly on time, had the shelves installed, and left no mess at all in a very short time! I am thrilled with the shelves! They roll so smoothly, and it is now SO EASY to see and reach everything!! In the kitchen, I got the soft close for the kitchen which was well worth the little extra! The glass casserole dishes and lids don’t get jostled around! After surgery, I can use my long grabber in the bathroom cabinet, roll out the drawers and grab what I need! Even my husband is thrilled he doesn’t have to get on all fours to get pans out of the bottom kitchen shelves!! This is the best improvement I have done to my house and wish I had done it sooner!
